Understanding Meeting Planners
We needed more information before we could recommend a new website design and architecture. We spent a few weeks conducting research to better understand PCVB's situation.
Taking a Deeper Look
We conducted interviews, ran surveys, analyzed the competitive landscape, performed secondary research, and had conversations with meeting planners who have worked with the PCVB.
Each bit of new information helped us understand the main challenges, desires, and questions meeting planners have when considering to host an event in a particular city.
What are Meeting Planners looking for in a City?
Meeting planners typically consider hosting their event in several cities. So, it was our job to understand what they look for in a city and how the PCVB website can position themselves as the easy choice. These were our big takeaways.

Web Strategy
A smart web strategy connects people to the info they need, right when they need it. For PCVB’s new site, we used our research to shape a smoother experience for meeting planners and convention attendees—making it easy to find details, make decisions, and get excited.
Mapping the User Journey
We worked closely with the PCVB team to map out the journey each target audience needs to take to hit their goals on the new site. Ironically, having a clear structure gave us the freedom to think bigger—finding new ways to engage visitors, remove friction, and make the experience more fun and intuitive.
Putting the Pieces Together.
We reimagined PCVB’s sitemap with meeting planners at the center. By streamlining the main navigation and highlighting a new venue search tool, we built an experience that makes it easier—and more inspiring—for planners to choose Philadelphia for their next event.

A New Website Designed for Heavy Use
With engaging forms, fresh photography, and a simple venue search tool, the new PCVB site makes it easy for visitors to learn more, get inspired, and start planning an unforgettable event in Philadelphia.

Web Development
We integrated the WordPress CMS with PCVB’s venue and partner databases—making it easy for visitors to search and filter listings by amenities, location, and standout features.
ADA Compliance
We built accessibility into every part of the new site—adding alt text for images, enabling full keyboard navigation, and making sure everything works smoothly with screen readers. By following ADA guidelines and focusing on inclusivity from the start, we created a digital space that's welcoming, easy to navigate, and built for everyone.

Comprehensive Search Tool
The PCVB site isn’t just engaging—it’s built for action. A big part of that is the dynamic venue search tool, which our technical team custom-coded to help meeting planners browse, save, and contact venues, hotels, and local businesses. Users can filter by amenities, location, and even special features like LGBTQ+-owned businesses to find the perfect fit.

“The website is looking fantastic. I’ve shared it internally and have heard really great feedback from the team. We’re all very excited for the launch. Even though we’re still working through some tweaks, I wanted to pause a minute and say thank you so much. Plenty more thanks to come!”
